Our Work

We provide a platform to introduce resilience to young people in a simple and effective manner.

Resilience is an individual’s capacity to deal with adversity and challenges in a positive manner.

Sacred Heart College

The Resilient Minds program was undertaken at Sacred Heart College and delivered to the year 11 ingoing house captains. This program was designed to run over five sessions that lasted one hour each. Its main purpose was to give students the opportunity to achieve personal growth and to develop their self-leadership skills, subsequently improving their ability to lead others.

We wanted to provide them with tools that would help them navigate young adulthood and stay with them for life. These tools included anxiety reducing techniques, resilience building, understanding growth mindset and effective goal setting.

Henley High School

Resilient Minds presented to the senior football side at Henley High School, and ran its workshop for over 30 students. The students ranged from year 9 to year 12. This was a keynote presentation that went for 120 minutes, focussing on sports performance and how to get the best out of yourself, especially on the football field.

Primary topics included the need to be resilient, benefits of body language, having a clear mind to perform in key moments, stress relieving techniques and detailed goal setting that includes a plan to achieve these goals.

After the success of this workshop, we were then asked to return for another keynote presentation to students in other elite athlete programs. These students ranged from cricket, figure skating and tennis. Again, this presentation was based on sports performance, and included similar topics to the above.

"Resilient minds presented to our Specialist Sport Football students at Henley High School and the feedback from students and teachers was extremely positive.

Hearing Andy’s story and participating in a wide range of engaging activities, gave our students strategies to be more resilient. The workshop catered for all learning styles and encouraged group discussion and individual reflection.

I highly recommend this program."

Woods Panthers Netball

Woods Panthers Netball Team invited us down to talk to them after a difficult start to their season. They are an elite team that play in the State competition in the Premier League. They had many players who had suffered long term injuries too so this workshop was well timed.

The session went for 45 minutes and covered how to cope with injuries, what to focus on during games and how to make sure you are performing at your best, along with Resilient Mind staples of growth mindset, goal setting and body language.
